Gay Surrogacy UK is the website of a support group for those who wish to be or are gay parents.
The group is run by gay parents. It was set up in 2011 and has grown into a national forum in the UK for gay men having babies through surrogacy. There was little, if any, support and information available for prospective gay surrogacy parents when we began our journey into parenthood; it felt like a unique experience.
So we have developed this site and the network of parents that underpin it to help prospective and existing parents have access to hands-on experience, unbiased information, and peer support, with the intention that as we grow our children will become connected too.
If you would like to get in touch, remember:
We are a not-for-profit group run by volunteers. We are not affiliated to any commercial organisation, and on rare occasions when we do receive financial support for events we always acknowledge the involvement of the sponsor. We are an affiliate member of nelfa.org, the Network of European Lesbian and Gay Families’ Associations.
We are not a campaigning organisation. In any surrogacy and parenting arrangement we (i) recognise that the rights, safety and physical and emotional wellbeing of the child is paramount, and (ii) believe donors, prospective parents and surrogates should be supported in making informed choices that protect their physical and emotional well-being.
We do not advocate any specific donor or surrogate agency/organisation, or match surrogates/donors/prospective parents with each other, although we are prepared to identify examples of best practice cited by our members to help others on their journey to creating a happy family.
